Club Records and Personal Bests
There were two new Club Records set on the final day of September at the Colchester 15. Sharon Wright finished in 1.49.26 to record the fastest time ever by any female Harlow Running Club athlete and set a new FV35 record taking 1.17 off the previous best that had stood since January 1997. Sandi Rust also set a new FV50 record with 1.58.01, improving the previous record set in January 2014 by 10.14.
The records for all members on the web site have been updated to the end of September. Please take a look and if there are any errors, please let me know.
Club Championship & Age Awards
After the two qualifying races at the Pleshey Half Marathon and the Saffron Striders Fast 5, September saw no changes at the top of the Ladies’ Championship however there was a change of positions in the Men’s Championship. There were no changes in either the Ladies’ or Men’s Age Categories leaders.
The Ladies’ Championship leader board is: first – Sharon Wright with 491 points, Debbie Barry in second on 468 and Kerry Mavris still third with 462. In the Men’s Championship Colin Moody is still in first with 494 points, John Bull in second place with 450 and John Tennant moves up to third with 391.
In the Ladies’ Age categories the leaders are unchanged: Senior – Liz Roberts (122 points), V35 – Sharon Wright (200), V45 – Kerry Mavris (188), V55 – Debbie Barry (199) and V65 – Brenda Clayton (60). In the Men’s Age categories the leaders are still: Senior – Martin Westley (172 points), V40 – Andy Terrell (112), V50 – John Bull (188), V60 – Colin Moody (197), V70 – Jim Bates (120). Please take a moment to check the tables and let me know of any errors.
There is a minor change to the qualifying races until the end of this year. Usually, Ware’s cross country race is held before Christmas, but this season’s race will not take place until January, so it has been dropped from this year’s qualifying races, but you may get two goes at it in 2019 if it returns to its usual date.
When you e-mail your results to the Club, it would be helpful to include a link to the full race results in the event of your finishing position and the number of finishers being omitted from your e-mail. This would save time if these need to be researched.
Just a reminder that if you register as a Club member on your parkrun profile, your times can be filtered automatically for the results each week and thus it is easier to update your Championship score and PB tables.
There is a list of local races, including Club Handicap, Club and Essex Championship dates on the web site. http://www.thehrc.org.uk/fixtures.html
