Great Britain Triathlon Selection
Many congratulations to Faith Jackson-Lee, who has been selected to represent Team GB at Ibiza in October 2018 in the Half Ironman in the FV40-44 category.
Brenda Clayton continued her fine run of form when she broke her existing V70 record for 10k with a new time of 58.21 at the Bonfire Burn in Histon, beating her previous record by 2.10.
Jim Bates lowered his own V70, 5k record at Worthing, with a new time of 23.54, clipping 9 seconds off his previous best set in May 2015.
At the Essex 10 miles Championship, held at Stebbing, Club members won three medals. Carinne Jay and Debbie Barry both won Gold in the V45 and V55 categories respectively and Janice Page also collected Silver in the V55 category.
Club Championship & Age Awards
In November, the Stebbing 10, the Ware Cross Country and a variety of 5k performances counted towards the final placings.
However, as I have not received all the Men’s finishing places in the Ware race, I have been unable to include it this month. When I receive the final few placings, I shall update the figures at the end of December.
The Ladies’ Championship leaderboard remains unchanged with Carinne Jay in first place on 500 points. Sharon Wright in second closed the gap slightly on 491 and Debbie Barry in third on 486 points.
Similarly in the Men’s Championship there are no changes in the leading scores. John Tennant is still in first place on 494, Darren Tiley remains in second on 486 with Andy Bradley in third place on 452.5 points.
In the Ladies’ Age Categories the leaders are all unchanged. In the Ladies Senior, Catherine Ridge has extended her lead with 179 points, the FV35 leader is Sharon Wright (200 points), the FV45 leader is Carinne Jay (200 points), the FV55 leader is Debbie Barry (200) and the FV65 leader is Paulene Galoppi (97 points).
In the Men’s Age Categories; the Senior lead has changed to Martyn Coulter by 1 point with(187 points), the MV40 leader remains Darren Tiley (194 points), the MV50 leader Andy Bradley (196.5 points), the MV60 leader John Tennant (200 points) and the MV70 leader is Peter Mills (136 points).
Please take time to check for any errors and let me know. For full details of the tables see the Club web site http://www.thehrc.org.uk/championship2017.htm
Due to family commitments over the Christmas and New Year period, I will not be able to update the Club Championship and Age Category tables or the Club Records and Personal Best pages at the end of 2017. I hope to complete these by the middle of January.
There is a list of local races, including Club Handicap, Club and Essex Championship dates on the web site. http://www.thehrc.org.uk/fixtures.html
