I have always run to keep fit since I trained for a long distance walking event as a teenager. My wife, Vicky, got me in to entering racea and I have never looked back.
I enjoy running with the club for the social aspects as well as keeping fit, but my favourite bit are the races. To me, one of the best feelings in the world is to arrive at mile 10 of a half Marathon, just on target for a PB. You know that that final 5K is going to be painful, but you push through it and make the time. I enjoy half marathons as they are a good balance between endurance and an areobic endorphin rush.
I am currently serve on the club committee as webmaster.
