Hi guys and gals, I've been looking at training schedules for the spring marathons and noticed that in the FIRST training schedule that the club follows there are two 20 mile training runs - one on 18th March and one on 1st April (if I've counted my weeks correctly!!). I thought it might be fun for one of these training runs to take place at a "race" but not at race pace (for me anyway!). Anyway, I've seen one that looks quite good at the Top Gear test track... could be fun I think I'll probably sign up, if anyone else decides to join in let me know! George

Georgina, just to let you know a good Half marathon to do next year is the Hastings on 25th March. It's very well organised, the roads are all closed to traffic, it starts and finishes on the seafront, but there are a couple of long undulations up but some nice hills going down to the finish. We did this this year and we will be entering again. It's quite a way to go for a run, but we made a day of it. You can shower after and there's a nice restaurant on the seafront. Regards Janice I'm thinking of doing the Halstead Marathon on May 13th, if anyone wants to join me let me know!

Thanks for the tip Janice. Unfortunately I think that's a little further than I would like to go for a half. Looks like a nice race though. I'm in for Great Bentley and Silverstone now so should hopefully be able to set a comfortable time in my first and then will try to beat it in my second George | |
