Do you still need a place for the Great North Run on Sunday 18 September? How about running for the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea?
We know it’s tough to ask your friends and family to sponsor you at the moment, so we’re removing our usual entry fee for this event. All we ask is that you aim to raise £300 in sponsorship for us, and we have lots of ways of helping you to do that. If you sign up before 6pm on 6 July 2011, we will remove the usual entry fee requirement of £40.
In case you don’t know much about us, here are some facts and figures about the RNLI…
· Its costs £400k a day to keep us afloat · We save an average of 22 lives a day · We don’t receive any government funding · Some of our crew kit costs…£16 for a pair of gloves, £42 for a pair of yellow wellies, £319 for an inshore lifeboat dry suit
All you need to do is register online now and then get going with your training and fundraising - don’t forget there is no entry fee requirement until 6pm 6 July 2011.
You will get a fantastic bright yellow RNLI running vest, expert training to help you in the 'run up' to the big day, fundraising advice, lots of cheers and support from us on the day and a post-race reception including a well earned massage! Please pass this email on to any friends who may want to take part in this year’s Great North Run and support the RNLI! We look forward to meeting you on the day, Lisa, Chloe & Tabea, the RNLI Events Team | |
