Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals Charitable Trust has secured 20 charity places for the BUPA London 10,000 on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May 2011. This sell-out event organised by the London Marathon team starts and finishes in St James’s Park and much of the course takes in the proposed route for the 2012 Olympic Marathon, passing many of London’s famous sights including:

Westminster Abbey Lloyds of London

Houses of Parliament Leadenhall Market

Big Ben Bank of England

The London Eye Mansion House

Cleopatra’s Needle St Paul’s Cathedral

Tate Gallery Horseguards

Millennium Bridge Nelson’s Column

The Monument Admiralty Arch

All we ask for in return for your guaranteed place is that you raise a minimum sponsorship of £300. All proceeds will go to the Polly Parrot appeal which is raising funds for the new Children’s A&E unit at Basildon Hospital. We hope to buy specialist paediatric equipment/toys that will distract children whilst they are treated in A&E.

However, if you would prefer to raise funds for another ward or department as part of Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals Charitable Trust, please let us know and this can be arranged.
