Dear Sir/Madam

Warm weather training for international athletes has become the norm over the past few years, but the structure of these training camps is generally geared to the needs of the elite athlete, and often to those who have a sprint or field event bias.

The needs and aspirations of the average club runner may be very different.

All athletes will benefit from training in a warmer climate but apart from good training conditions the club runner also wants an enjoyable break, in a sociable environment.

Running is now starting a boom period again, as it seems to do in every financial recession. Money is tight for many people, but despite this athletes would still love the opportunity to beat the British weather and train abroad.

Our new venture in Portugal offers runners of all abilities the chance to train in warmer conditions, and at a cost they can afford. Our maximum group size will be eight, which means you also get a training holiday that is personal to you.

I have been involved in competitive athletics for over forty years, as athlete, coach and team manager - and so I am fully aware of what runners require on a training break. The attached brochure explains what we have on offer. I’m sure many of your athletes might like the chance to train with a little sun on their backs, in a ‘runner friendly’ environment.

Could you please post a copy of our attached brochure on your club noticeboard and/or forward a copy of this email to your members.

Thank you in anticipation.

We look forward to welcoming your members to Portugal.
