As I am not very good at looking at the club noticeboard, can any one tell me if the list is up for the coach to go to the marathon.

Thanks

Linda

Linda - yes

Hi,  Dave & I are not running London this year but we are hoping to go up and cheer everyone on.   We can make our own way and if anyone wants to come with us please do let us know.

Vicky and I will be supporting the London Marathon at about mile 22 on the highway (almost opposite the halfway point) as part of a internet group's support station. You will NOT be able to miss it as it will be adorned with red/yellow ballons and everyone on it will be in red/yellow. The following link will give you an idea of what it looks like/location: More...

Please give a wave across the road for a photo as you come past half way on the way out, then come across to the right hand side of the road on the way back down.  We will be FIRST in line as you come past mile 22 as I am one of the 'official' photographers for the support station. If there is anything you want us to give you, then please us know/pass us something before the race.  You will be able to get anything from Jelly babies to beer at this unofficial feedstation BTW!

There is no need to 'sign up' on the website as the link is just to help you know where we will be.

Hi

Can anyone tell me if there are still places available on the coach for next Sunday for VLM10 ?

I've had a change of plan re getting there and now think wiser to get a coach there, rather than train.

Don't know what time it leaves, but I'm running, so need to sort something out quickly

I'll go down on Monday and see if anything on the board, but wondered if anyone knew for sure

Thanks

Steve,

When I checked on Thursday, there were about 25 names on the list. There are about 56 seats on the coach, although some Hospice runnrs will sign up to come on the coach next week. The coach leaves Hammarskjod Road at 7.00am prompt and will return from the Trafalgar Square/Northumberland Road area at about 4.00pm. The cost is £10 per person, whether travelling in both directions, or only one.

Weather forecast for this is looking ominously hot.

If it is I highly recommend this gem of a product:

http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/garnier-ambre-solaire-kids-stick-sensitive-spf-50_1_17474.html

I bought some from Tescos a week ago for £4.   It's a stick (bit like a Pritt stick) which means that unlike every suncream I've ever used it didn't run at all when I started sweating as I ran.

I applied it all over my face/head/shoulders/arms etc prior to Brighton & just that one coat stopped me getting any sunburn whatsoever on what was a very sunny day.  Deffo worth checking out.

Can all marathon runners post their running number on the forum?

This will enable vicky and I (or anyone else that is supporting you) to 'stalk' you by the Adidas track your runner service so we have warning when you are about to reach mile 22 - helps with spotting/makes sure we have not gone to the loo etc...

Cheers.

Found the link that allows you to see people's results:

Only works if you know their runner number though
