Week 25 (20/06 - 26/06)
Weight : 11st 12.25lbs
Booze : 10
Miles : 22
Tuesday : First time I've made it to the speed work session with the club, and it's the one I
hate most.. 6 x 1200's.. Steve & I kept each other going until he perked up and ran away
from me on the last couple.. But I'm not far away from his level, which is a good sign..
Thursday : About 8 miles or so with the club.. Reasonable pace to end as I was stupid
enough to try and run with Louise, who is considerably quicker than me.. I thought I was
doing ok until, as we reached Mark Hall, I slumped to a halt, as she simply kept going with a
shout of "I'm running home, see ya" !!
Sunday : About 8 mile run up and over St Martha's - managed to get all the way to the top
on the steep side (from Chilworth Manor) without stopping..
Did a final kit check and pack this weekend.. All fits nicely into the rucsac, weight comes in
at around 16lbs, with full water bottle.. Have split the tent so I take the outer and the poles &
pegs, Steve takes the inner - seems a fair enough split..
The main group travelling from Hants / Surrey (9 of us) have finally agreed on a mini bus up
to the Lake District - Stevie A is on his own from Essex (Billy no mates), We'll all meet up
there on Friday sometime..
Weather forecast (as at Monday) for Ambleside for the weekend, looks like being reasonable
(no rain) for the Saturday, with perhaps some small showers on the Sunday..
